No question the insurance thing has absolutely hammered values (and not just of L460s), but it also seemed to be a problem of subsequent oversupply - imagine slowing/stopping production to limit that is a bit like turning around an oil tanker.

The depreciation has been a roller coaster that has been exacerbated by the high list prices and the overs pricing until part way through 2023. Then the insurance problem made matters even worse.

We're now in more normal territory and discounts on new were high in H2 2024.

Fab write up. Agree on the L460 noise cancellation - I’m dubious. It definitely seemed better on my 22MY car vs 24MY.

In my L461 with Meridian Signature, the noise cancellation definitely doesn’t work properly. Agreed being able to switch on and off would be so helpful. In fact, the headrest speakers have a mind of their own and the audio frequently plays through the wrong channel. A bit annoying having spent £4.5k on the upgrade.

2016 Range Rover Vogue SDV8 Loire Blue

Well today I crystallised the depreciation and sold to WBAC. Thought I might feel sad but glad it has gone.
Still have the SDV8 Euro 6 L405 that is a keeper, so can still post here.
Trying to do a deal on a Bentayga.
Time will tell.
A significant reason for wanting out was Vertu bought my dealer and were ......... letters not necessarily in the right order
