United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Buckingham Blue
Parasitic Battery Drain/CD Changer

Good evening all.

After managing to solve a lot of the issues I’ve experienced on my 2007 TDV8 over the years, I’m a little stumped on this one and wonder if anybody has experienced the same.

I (like many) have the dreaded parasitic battery drain issue, so to try and identify where the issue may lie, I bought myself a plug-in ‘fuse buddy tester’ to check each fuse in turn.

I duly removed all my fuses and the only issues I found were the CD changer is pulling 0.3A and one of the instrument panel illumination circuits is pulling 0.1A. This results in the battery losing about 0.5v a day.

I have a spare CD changer (after sussing out how to solve the ‘invalid disc’ issue) and swapping them over makes no difference. I’ve looked at the CD circuit diagram and it seems very straightforward, with just the changer in the circuit, so I can’t identify anything that could be the cause.

I am not the most experienced with diagnosing electrical gremlins, so if anybody could give me any pointers, it would be much appreciated.

I’ll take a look at the instrument binnacle another day Very Happy

Many thanks!
