Steering Wheel buttons

See update a few posts below..... Don't buy these

At 80,000 miles and 10 years old my steering wheel buttons were starting to show their age and had gone a bit "sticky" as they do...

To be fare I wasn't that taken by the later looking all black buttons but after seeing how much new original ones are I thought I would give it a go.

I found a store on AliExpress who were adamant theirs worked so £87 later a pair were on their way, only took a few days to arrive well boxed...

You have to remove the flappy paddles, one T20 torx screw, then remove a screw under that, again a T20, you then have to pop the airbag off but you don't have to disconnect it so you can leave the battery connected, then just pull off the old ones, which take quite a pull, remove the multi plug and you are done. As they say, fitting is a reversal. They came with a little jumper that you fit if the left one doesn't behave, mine needed the jumper.

Anyway all fitted and I have to say they work spot on and look fine...

I read of some stopping the paddles working and other issues, well these work just as they should and do feel nicer than the old ones..

I can recommend these if someone wants to change theirs.

Before

Fitted and all black with the ignition off..

Lit up, heated steering wheel is on...

Wide angle shot

This is a link to the ones I bought....

I'm very pleased with them, especially at that price... Thumbs Up Pete

When you find something that cheap and it looks good and works then I think they need praise... Thumbs Up Pete

Thanks Stan, don't know what these are like compared to the "proper" ones but they are very tactile, and cheap as chips.... Thumbs Up Pete

Right then, don't buy these, had them 2 weeks and first off the buttons worked spot on, I've done a fare few miles and I use the ACC a lot and now the ACC buttons on the right only work about 70% of the time you press them. The others are fine still but I guess they will fail soon..

They will be going back..... Sad Pete
