Bahrain 2011 Range Rover Supercharged 5.0 SC V8 Bournville

I'm Thinking it could be the sprockets but I will take it back to the shop and see if they can find out what is causing this noise. Have a rattle when accelerating as well and I'm sure the source of the rattle and the ticking have the same cause. '11 L322 5.0 Supercharged - Bournville

@TorontoDee , I was informed the ticking sound (not rhythmic) could be either bad cam buckets or bad Supercharger Coupler. I have yet to replace any of these. The rattle on acceleration was diagnosed as engine pinging/pinking, and the car hesitates and RPM bouncing while driving. The technicians told me it is due to a failing engine vacuum pump, could that cause engine pinging? Or am a being fooled? New video clip attached for engine idle post timing job.

To summarise, I've been told that engine combustion is incomplete and that the air/fuel mixture is too rich due to faulty Vacuum Pump.

Sounds the same as mine. Don't have any performance issues.

I had the coupler (and supercharger oil) done back in May (2024). Asked about the snout, informed it looked good.

Keep us posted
