Map sensor issues

Hi. Does anyone know if a faulty map sensor can cause a gearbox safe mode to appear?

Yes if the gearbox requests extra power and the engine doesn't appropriately respond. However rather than being faulty, it may just need a clean. Use a spray cleaner - don't try to dig out the carbon which could damage the sensor.
