self closure door lock

I had this down as a gimmick until today.

-3 degrees overnight and with some rainfall before the freeze saw the car was proper frozen this morning.
The cabin preheater worked its magic and inside was toasty, well it looked it from the outside. I couldnt get in; the door seals had frozen shut. I tried both driver and passenger doors with no joy. So, warm water over the top of the drivers door had the ice cracking and I was in. Inside was toasty warm and I was merrily on my way until I was on a NSL dual carriageway road at 65-70mph and the passenger door decided it was now ice free too and started to open, sending warning messages on the dash. Then the self closing kicked in an pulled it in and closed it, off goes the warnings and I was a happy bunny that a previously considered gimmick feature worked like a treat.

Very clever these cars First time FFRR owner

to be honest, I think it caught on the latch and the soft close brought it in, I think I'm being a bit of a drama queen First time FFRR owner
