Front or rear towing eye for recovery work | |
Up until this summer I had an L320 RR Sport that had a very robust rear towing loop which I used when recovering stranded friends, etc. I have a professional 6m tow strap with heavy duty shackles for the task. Whilst the loads are never that high recovering the odd ditched car etc, I always prefer to tow from a robust point on the vehicle.
Looking at the L405 - would it be better to tow using the front towing ring as that looks very robust, or is the rear screw-in eye normally up to the task? (Note - no tow bar fitted). Both tow points look a faff to uncover compared to the L320 What are people's thoughts and preferences please?
