secure hotel parking en route to alps

Hi all, looking for some tips on where to stay overnight en route to the alps, but, having had my rear window levered out a while ago and all my kit nicked, I would like recommendations which offer secure parking or underground parking.

Where are you planning to stop ?

I used to use all.com and map view - pick a place with parking & then ask the hotel whether it was secure.

"Alps" is a little vague, so depends where your final destination is. For 3 Valleys, La Plagne / Les Arcs, I used to try to get to the far side of Lyon near the airport and then have an early morning run up the mountains ahead of the half term traffic.

As my kids got older & couldn't bunk off Fridays, I'd drive & they could fly out or get the Eurostar and I'd pick them up from Lyon late on Friday.

we've stayed at the kyriad troyes centre hotel a few times ...underground carpark [12 euros] and a fuel station close by..basic rooms and the hotel is roughly half way between calais and chamonix?.. ... - .- -.

Hard to tell from Google Maps, looks open but maybe a gate - street view is old, but shows a gate that is likely closed at night. I'd email the hotel & ask

We used to stay in the Novotel in Dijon. Gated compound, almost all the cars were loaded up with roofboxes and skis. In the shopping/hotel/industrial estates on the edge of town near the autoroute.
