4.4 TDV8 Injector Removal

I'm working on a friends 4.4 TDV8 and it looks like I need to remove the injectors from it.

Has anybody got any hands on experience of removing a diesel injector from a 4.4 Diesel?

Looking at the workshop manual, it looks to be a right pain in the backside to do. I'd love to hear from someone who's actually done the job though!

There's a video on YouTube of someone removing them but they've already got all the covers, etc. removed from the engine and they're straight onto the injectors.

Thanks,

I'm guessing nobody has had to replace an injector on the 4.4 then Sad

It doesn't look a fun job going by the manual. 2002 4.6 Vogue SE - Alveston Red with Lightstone Leather

I could be way off target here, but is this any use? - very little info on the web is seems, the only videos I found were not helpful at all.

Does not look like an easy job, hope all goes well Thumbs Up

Cheers Merchy,

On the 3.6 getting down to the injectors isn't difficult. On the 4.4 it's a totally different ball game unfortunately Sad

I presume you have watched this video? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_A4su7rSyU

Seems the same issue on the 3.6, no 4 and 8 no room. If the 4.4 engine mounts are the same as the 3.6 I would suggest try the engine lift after loosening the bolt. If not bash out an indent in the body, it will be covered up afterward by the Battery surround. It looks like a whole lot less involved than on the 3.6.
