Really disappointed to receive an email yesterday from Sytner saying they are closing LR Portsmouth. Used to be Guy Salmon and has been there for 30 years.

They hope they can continue to look after me from their Ascot site!!!

Their service team and the technicians I have had cause to speak with over the years were top notch in my experience. Its a real shame for all the staff.

I hope JLR has a plan to open a new dealership nearby as Harwoods in Sussex is also closing its Land Rover showroom.

There was talk in 2022 of a new showroom in Portsmouth but that was supposed to be a Sytner dealership.

This leaves us with Hendy in Eastleigh. I've never experienced them however a friend had a 5 month lead time for a warranty repair earlier this year.

unless JLR has a plan, this is going to leave local Land Rover customers feeling really let down by the marque.

JLR have done the same in Ashford (Kent) all moved to Canterbury (Barretts) the other service/sales is Maidstone

Yes I read on a third party website they are shutting the Pulborough showroom for new LR. They seem to moving towards BYD going forwards.

Perhaps, this might shock MDs into providing better service if they know they are all at risk, but then probably not.......
