United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Buckingham Blue
'07 S/C EPB not holding & ventilation whine

A few queries, hive mind!

1. Since purchasing my 07 L322 I have noticed when the car has the handbrake on, but it is in drive, it tends to creep forward. Interestingly if I then hold the handbrake switch, it will hold better and stop creeping.

Not many uses for having the handbrake on whilst in drive but I'm wondering if this is normal. I'm also interested in why, like most modern cars, the handbrake does not automatically apply when in park. I can't find anything on my GAP to enable this so presume it's not a thing. Thoughts?

2. Separately, I've noticed a slightly annoying whine coming from the ventilation system. It is NOT the (cold) air-conditioning as it happens with our or without. It is a constant whine coming from somewhere between the engine bay and the dash. The frequency dips every 2 seconds or so then quickly reverts. It immediately halts when setting ventilation power to 0. No issues but just an annoying sound. Perhaps a pulley for the fan is a bit worn?

On a related note, when starting the car the ventilation system starts up and you can hear the vents/flaps opening and they make a godawful creaking sound. Presumably the plastic is a bit brittle somewhere but I would love to get whatever it is lubricated to stop the noise as it sounds rather arthritic (preferably without taking the dash apart) Razz

Help appreciated - thank you! L322 2007 S/C 4.2L
