Diesel leak on TDV8 4.4 rear left hand of engine bay

Can anybody please help? I have this diesel leak at the rear left-hand side of the engine bay it has been into three different garages. They’ve all said they fixed it and within a day or two is leaking again. I have had new leak off pipe new seals and the injector pipes checked to make sure they’re all tight and yet the problem is still there. It only seem to happen when the engine is under load when it is idling it does not leak from anywhere. If anybody has any experience of this if they could please let me know what it could be I would be most grateful at the moment it’s starting to cost me a small fortune not only in diesel but Garage bills as well.

Hi pcourtney

I have had a look on various forums but can’t see anything about diesel leaks just plenty on oil 🙄

Just a thought as I had something similar,

Mine was caused by the leak off pipes - but - when the pipes were replaced they used some general purpose fuel pipe and cut it to length to re-make the leak off assembly.

Upshot was: the pipe reacted with the diesel and become very brittle very quickly and failed again.

Might be worth finding out if they replaced your leak pipe off with a genuine assembly or just spliced in a bit of fuel pipe. Previous life - 2012 L320 SDV6 - Got divorced, say no more!
