Car Transportation services for Used car

Hi All

Just wondering if anyone has used any or has any recommendations for Car tansportation services at all?

Im considering buying a car in Essex but Im in leeds and was planning on having a PPI done and if that stacks up then looking to have it delivered to me. Its not something Ive done before but im sure its possible given the amount that happened during Covid etc.

Any suggestions greatly received. Thanks Current 2007 TDV8 Vogue Buckingham Blue

Ha! One of the reasons I've got a fatty is so that I can do my own. Maybe you could hire a trailer and do the same?

Others I've heard just use Shiply to get a few quotes and compare...(need to check if its covered transport or not, insurances, video'd loading, etc. - and pay for the extras you value.) Mike - MPx

Once you've decided it's the car for you, Leeds to Essex isn't that far to collect it yourself.

Personally I would get a train and then drive it back.

Overall probably cheaper than a delivery service and far simpler with less stress for you worrying about whether it survives the journey with someone else. 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography

I would feel more comfortable if the car was being bought from a main dealer or even better brand new. There’s that many buttons and features that need to be tested that once it leaves a private seller is your responsibility, even from an honest John with a supplied warranty the phone could go cold with that much distance between you both ( as I imagine full funds would need to be in place before the car is released ). I agree with the previous posts and arrange a nice weekend away to view, drive and test for piece of mind. 2021 SVautobiography Dynamic Black ( Black wheels need to go )

Thanks all I did a quote request via Shiply and the prices ranged from £295 driven on trade plates to £600 so I think travelling and viewing it myself before I part with the funds is the best idea after all.

A long train ride will give me time to catch up on my forum reading Very Happy Current 2007 TDV8 Vogue Buckingham Blue

That’s a short distance tbh, I’m usually one end of the country to the other . Would never get one delivered sight unseen by me though , better to have a poke about on collection Thumbs Up

Thanks all a fair point I was probably being lazy. Getting a train down to collect and can then enjoy a 200 mile drive back so fimngers crossed its not a lemon Very Happy Current 2007 TDV8 Vogue Buckingham Blue
