Dpf - Cat delete question

Asking for a friend, if you were to remove the dpf would you also remove the cat ? or could you leave the cat intact ? someone who does re-maps as said its best to leave the cat as it will stop a lot of smoke. What has others on here done ? This is a 4.4 tdv8 2011 L322. Thanks everyone.

The best thing to do is delete the EGR ( this can be done any competent remapper ) , and then ask your local friendly exhaust company to cut out the DPF and drop it into a good DPF cleaning company

the last few posts on the page below throw a bit more light on the subject, this way you will not fall foul of any future MOT rules & regs, and also will be able to sell the car without having to disclose that you have removed the DPF or the CAT

Why does ‘your friend’ want to get rid of the DPF and EGR - more power or is it faulty? 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)
