l405 new TPMS valves

I am having 5 new Perreli Zero PNCS tyres fitted next week, as the car & the tyres are 9 years old, curent best price from asda tyres online,
the tyre fitter has said that I need new tpms valves, I have purchased 5 new genuine ones as agreed with them, to give to the tyre fitter for when they fit the new tyres
I cannot establish if these new valves need to be programmed (possibly by JLR or by the tyre shop) before they operate corretly or will they automatically be detected by the car,
can anyone able to confirm or advise the way forward
TIA various other LR's this one is still the best

if you're lucky and they are activated you'll be ok , if not then a dealer should be able to switch them on....unless the tyre co has the 'machine'

theres a thread here somewhere talking about this.. ... - .- -.

I bought some genuine ones a few years ago for an L494 as I was getting my wheels refurbed. They were just fitted and worked straight away without any need for programming.

new tyres fitted

update
Had the 5 new zeros tyres fitted yesterday together with 5 new TPMS vales, the tyre fitter said didn't think he could programme the tpms vales, but I asked him to try and much to his surprise and my delight he managed to activate them all
Only minor hiccup was that I had to also run the spare wheel (had to inflate to 48psi) fitted to the car for a few miles before it registered on the car, now all 5 tyres showing correctly on the car
Not sure if its my imagination but they do seem a lot quieter than the original verdes ( which were 9 years old)
bought from ASDA tyres, 5 Pirelli Scorpion Zero All Season 255/55R20 110Y XL LR fully fitted £1055 ( I had to purchase the new genuine tpms valus from the bay of evil cost of 5 was £100)
hope this helps others various other LR's this one is still the best

when I asked the tyre fitter if he had a tpms reader he said he had but had only used it to read eaxisting tpms valves, then he would code the wheel to correct position on the car,

So I asked if it had the facilty to activate the valves he got the instructions out and discovered how to do it, of course he was well chuffed and told me he had saved me fourtune by not having to go to the dealer

ps they did not try just putting the new valves in and seeing if they would register, so cannot confirm if they would have automatically registered

hope this is of some help various other LR's this one is still the best
