I have recently experienced the Green dash indicator lights going out when driving and there being no gears, if I flick the gear lever over to sport or manual it will come back on temporarily and gears are available.

I am aware the transmission needs a service and possibly new internal parts, but what could be causing the D light to come on and off, could this be due to a loose electrical connection??

More likely a faulty inhibitor switch, I would have thought?
