3.6 tdv8 Mystery footwell switch?

I'll apologise in advance if this proves to be a numpty question but I have looked in the owners manual to no avail and couldn't think of how I might search for it here.

2007 tdv8.

I've just replaced to FSR thingy to get the heater fan working properly. I doing so I had to remove the panel above the pedals in the footwell.

Fitted to this panel are a footwell light, obd port and a switch. I've not seen any of these items mentioned on any other FSR replacement how to's, but they're not a problem, but disconnecting the obd is a bit tricky.

But what does the switch do? It's labelled Ford so it's obviously a Ford era item, not BMW.

I've never seen it before, obviously never used it either, but it must have some purpose. I hope I've not been missing out on an amazing feature!

Anyone know?

Chris

Thanks for the prompt response! So, it doesn't really do anything of much use then! Dissappointing!! Ha!
