2011 Parking Distance Control not working

All,

A few weeks back, I had a “camera not working” message appear, that disappeared on next start up. GAP tool, no fault.

Then I stopped getting a “beep” on reverse and “P” button doesn’t light up. I still get an audible beep beep when reversing, or going forward, after going into reverse, so the sensors seem to be working.

The reverse camera screen, the red lines are now gone when reversing, although they beep, and touching the screen to put the grid lines on and off, beep on screen, nothing appears.

I’m guessing this might be the PDC module, is the module at the back next to the sat nav?

Thoughts anyone?

Well, I pulled the PDC module out, took it apart, the contacts on the plugs showed signs of corrosion, opened up the unit, in the bottom is green corrosion , the board had corrosion on it, cleaned it up, but on close inspection, you can see there is damage there, as it’s gone black.

Replacement found on eBay, same P/N £80.

I suspect water has got in, seems to be a common problem, my board is not as bad as some I’ve seen pictures of, rust has got in.

Hopefully this is the issue, will VHB the back of the replacement unit, stick it back on sideways, stop water ingress.

The 3 connectors also showed signs of corrosion.

Will see if this fixes the problem.
