Assuming the engine is kaput, and given this is a dealer with over 100 cars for sale on Autotrader, it's fair to say they've had someone have a look at it (who's advised it needs an engine). Most likely, much more than just a misfire I'd guess...

A lot of the 5 Star reviews are written in a very similar style with the same grammar as the responses to the the numerous 1 Star reviews, a coincidence I'm sure. If the reviews did put you off but you still fancied buying a car from them, then 10 mins of internet stalking of the company and it's directors paints a pretty good picture of where you would stand if you were looking for a refund or tried to enforce any consumer rights.
