Thanks to Alistair's tip, I was able to download the repair instructions for the L405 and solve the problem easily: I simply installed the wiper motor from my L494 into the 2013 client´s L405, and lo and behold, it worked. Now I'm buying a used wiper motor for my L494, it only costs half as much as an L405 wiper motor, but is identical.
