L322 4.4 TDV8 Water in fuel sensor

Still having trouble with the wretched water in fuel sensor registering and also a weep from the unit. Thinking the filter might be at fault I replaced it with a Land Rover genuine. On inspection of the round screw on alloy sensor plug at the bottom of the filter I found there was movement in the sensor core which concerned me as a possible leak source. Reinstalled it anyway. Cleared the fault codes. Drove her for a couple of weeks before the fault code started popping up again and started noticing the weep had recommenced. Leak has progressively gotten worse until yesterday where the diesel was pooling under the car. Have now removed the water in fuel sensor plug and replaced it with the simple plastic plug that came with the filter and have cable tied the sensor lead to the housing. If this solves my problems I’ll be happy however I would like to source another sensor plug to keep everything original. Has anyone experienced similar and anyone know where I can source one without having to replace the entire filter housing?
