4.4 TDV8 front discs and pads

Hi All,

Can anyone recommend a good quality set of replacement discs and pads for a 2012 4.4 TDV8 please.

Looking about I see options from M Tec, Brembo, Brit part, Borg and Warner. Quality is more important than cost but don’t want to pay a high premium for LR unless really worth it.

Thanks

I’ve always been happy with standard EBC stuff but upgrades are available if you feel the need

Brembo discs Part No. 09.A771.11 and EBC Greenstuff pads for me - front and rear - just the job and not too expensive Smile

Brembo PVT vented disc. The PVT disc uses, in its ventilation chamber, pillars instead of vanes. Disc cooling capacity is enhanced by an extra 40% and therefore provides more resistance against thermal cracking.

Pagid for me, very good quality, four years use now and still superb. I bought them when a well known national car parts supplier had a bank holiday sale and got all four discs, all pads and hand brake components for a smidgeon under £300 Thumbs Up

Often used Pagid on the runabouts in the past, but had a newish pad fall off its backing plate which was a complete pain (including recovery, a caliper rebuild, ABS sensor, new discs and pads etc); sent back to Pagid, they told me they were “excessively corroded” - which they very obviously weren’t.

So no more Pagid here.

Brembo are what LR use so should be the best option without the LR badge hike .

The OE discs are terrible quality.
