Hi everyone I’m new to this forum,I have a 2008 3.6 tdv8 L322 which a mobile mechanic left in pieces and stopped replying to me,I fitted the new thermostat housing and hoses but I am now trying to connect up the metal egr pipes and one doesn’t seem to be lining up correctly and I can barely move it,the intake manifold is bolted in the right place so I’m not sure why it won’t line up.

This is my first time doing a big job like this on my rangey

Seriously though … if he’s been that much of a div in taking it apart, he may have pulled at it when one side was still attached and bent it in doing so, putting it out of shape. V8 or else ...

Why not fit an EGR blanking kit and ditch those pipes, no errors will show and your engine will be happier.

Or you might be unlucky and the EML will come on once you’ve blanked them out (as happened on mine) and you’ll need to get the EGR delete remap. It’s not an expensive thing to do via the IID tool. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Can you tell where I can get the EGR delete map as I have fitted the EGR delete kit but still get the Engine System Fault warning and loss of power.

You will need an IID tool, but the patch is done through Bell Auto Services.

from my limited experience a couple of years ago, Bell Auto Services are not happy to provide modified ECU maps if the engine has fault codes that are current.
If you didn't know, their modified maps need a GAP IID diagnostic tool to install them or they can be installed by them or some approved garages that are approved by BAS.

If you've got a diagnostic tool, what is the actual fault code you are getting - ie what is causing the Engine System Fault warning you're getting. Presumably the Engine System Fault is displayed via the mini LCD screen at the bottom of the instrument cluster or is it via the Check Engine Warning Light ?

Installing an EGR delete plate won't remove any fault codes that a faulty EGR is creating as the EGR is still electrically connected to the cars ECU. Paul,
