For starters, it has a main bearing each side of each piston - 7 mains vs 4 in the TDV6/SDV6, so no vibration resonance risk of flexing the crankshaft. |

I'm not an expert on the technologies of engines, but I can tell you it is a brilliant engine, very quick, smooth and very good on fuel. Highly recommended It is a lot cheaper than the 350 too! Not really sure why you would need the 350 unless you are towing. All LR cars from 1984

A 21.5 D350 is what I would want if I was to replace my 4.4 TDV8 L322. |

it would appear that the price point that I am interested in, low 40's the 4.4 diesel or the 3 litre MHEV are available...... which is the best choice...... im not bothered about going fast, more interested in cruising, quietness and MPG.....

See if you can find a 3.0 HEV with the antiroll stability system as an option... This was fitted to all 4.4's as standard but makes a HUGE difference in both drivability & passenger comfort/fatigue motion sickness... Thats the biggest issue for me with the 3.0, boaty floaty handling at any speed. The 3.0 feels under controlled for my liking... |

in an ideal world I would find a 4.4 or 3.0mhev or even a plug in 2.0 in lwb in red, blue, or green with a tow bar and ski hatch option but they seem to be thin on the ground. |

Completely agree, I wouldn’t have bought one without it. It was fairly ‘boaty’ with it! I had it in Sport whenever I wasn’t on the motorway as it reduced the delay for the anti roll to kick in. Or at least it felt that way. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid MY19 SDV8 Autobiography - Sold |

mine is a 2018 4.4V8 and I love it, smooth enough, pretty quiet, and plenty enough power/torque and sounds great when span up. I am getting a real world average of 31mpg which is obviously a mix of town and distance. On a long run, the most I have seen is a real world 42mpg (44 on the computer) for a motorway trip from Cheshire to the south coast and back @60-65mph.
