I am the new owner of a 2008 TDV8 Vogue. Last owner fitted a remote control battery Isolator to deal with a battery drain problem. I'm trying to solve this.

I have put the car to sleep and pulled fuses from the passenger and boot fuse boxes. I used a clamp meter on the neg battery cable (Cheapo Chinese so probably not very accurate) and a fuse blade ammeter that you put in in place of the removed fuse to read current draw from each fuse.

So Clamp meter shows 7amps on shut down dropping to 4.7 amps after a few mins then drops too around 1 amp when the car is meant to be asleep.

Current draw from the fuses in glove box fuse box that I found as follows;
F11 0.010 Amp Central locking, External Mirrors, Electric window Drivers
F12 0.290 Amp Air conditioning heated seats
F20 0.010 Amp Seat memory, Electric seat switches, steering column adjust
F24 0.010 Amp Central locking, External Mirrors, Electric window Drivers
F40 0.290 Amp pulling this fuse put the CD changer into a hissy fit, its broken and cant load the cassette, but after a few minutes it stopped and the current dropped to zero
F46 -0.130 A Instruments (when I pulled this fuse it woke everything up again and had to wait for the car to go to sleep again)
F57 0.120 Amp Air suspension

No current draw from any of the rear fuse box fuses.

I don't have a Gap tool just an ICarsoft.
From searching it seems that there is a relatively common issue with the AC control panel.
Does anybody know if the AC control panel is associated with F12?

I can't find any details of the fuses in the engine bay compartment. Does anyone have a diagram of this fuse box?

Any comments, insights and guidance on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated. All the best

So I have continued to investigate this and it seems Fuse 12, which feeds the aircon control panel is definitely in the frame for a large portion of the battery drain.

One thing I noticed by accident is that when the ignition is off, if I press the max * (max cooling) button on the bottom right hand side of the panel, the fan starts. None of the other buttons do anything with the ignition off.
Could someone with a similar model (2008 3.6 TDV8) just press this button with the ignition off and see if it activates the fan. I suspect the ac control panel might be faulty.

When I press MAX on my 2004 car, with ignition off, it does not do anything Chris

So I received my NOS aircon control unit from Ebay today, fitted it and monitored the battery drain.
After 30 mins it had dropped to 19 to 45 milliamps which I think is exactly where it should be.....

Incidentally, I posted earlier that after the ignition was switched off, the max cooling button on the aircon panel turned the fan on. This still happens with the new aircon panel.

Before fitting the new panel the drain was in the region of 1.0 Amps after an hour.

Hi, I’m sure on my 2010 L322 you can press the max ac button when you park up and it will blow warm air into the car when you get out, it keep the cabin warm when you leave the car for a short while.
