Does it raise / lower the spinny knob? The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom |

JMC, I wouldn't think so - the L405 Spinny knob also raises and lowers, and the Silver pin 3 is absent. We never had the Rotary Selector in an L322 over here - so I can't even get my hands on one to monkey with.
What changed between the L322 and the L405? What is missing in the L405 that would use that wire? They both raise, they both have light up indicators for gear position P/R/N/D/S Did they figure out that the wire wasn't doing anything? Did they figure out a way to send that signal over another wire? You make 200,000 units and dropping 1 wire X 5 or 6 feet. I guess the savings add up. I'm helping out a fellow in Romania, that is looking at a 4.4 TDV8 in Spain. He has an L320 and said he would prefer an L494 lever to the knob. It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World (1963). Thanks for the reply. Keep your ear to the wire if you would. - JDW 2006 L322 HSE LUX 4.4NA Jag V8 Buckingham Blue/Ivory - 'Col Reb' Rolled Yahtzee Aug 2023 222,222Miles 2016 L405 HSE TD6.
