Windscreen Wiper mechanism LR035813

Hi all,

My 2012 Westminster needs a replacement windscreen wiper mechanism (LR035813). It's on backorder everywhere, and lots of posts on here from people as far back as 7 years trying to find one!

I've read online that the linkage and motor are welded together, so you can't buy in parts, but I'm wondering if anyone on here knows for sure?

I'm thinking could I buy the motor (which I think is model no. 67638360603; https://www.autodoc.co.uk/ridex/12746812 )

and then connect it to a linkage like this:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/164976038554?mk...media=COPY

The other option is buying from salvage, but I'm back into not knowing how long the motor will hold out.

I saw another post saying you can change the motor in situ, rather than removing and replacing the whole linkage - has anyone done this who could advise how it went?

Thanks all!

Is it the ball joints that are worn and keep popping off?
Sure I've seen some repair clips if that's the case.

Don’t know to be honest. Wipers started parking randomly, occasionally going mad and not stopping, then also not working at all. Though sometimes they work fine for a while. It’s under LR extended warranty, so sent it in and they said the part I need is on back order. They’ve had the car for 5 months, so I’ve given up waiting. I asked the part number and they sent me the above.

I don’t think they are welded together, just that you might have to order as a unit.

Had a new motor on mine a few years ago and the linkage was not changed as the garage couldn’t get the wiper arms off.

No, that picture is terrifying.

What I'm hoping is that I could buy a new motor and replace in situ - has anyone done that themselves?

🤣 I just wanted to show the possible mounting points to the linkage, not all the innards but it was the only pic I had….

This is amazing! Thank you so much.

It certainly seems like I can swap the motor over. Has anyone got experience of doing that?
