Radio CD Tuner play intermittently RR 2003

Hi I have recently acquired a 53reg RR Vogue and having problems with the radio unit cutting in and out and the CD player not fully loading up.

I have found some info on the forum to check the blue connector in the left side boot section, it was a little dirty on one corner, so cleaned up but still no change.

I found a couple of blown fuses in the right side boot section.

What else could be the issue or what to check?

Check for water damage. Water finds it's way into the electronics compartment and drips on the Sat Nav and then down to the amplifier. Check all connectors for moisture and / or corrosion.

The CD Changer behind the glove box oftentimes needs to have its cartridge ejected and reloaded. If the green eject button does nothing, keep pressed while tapping the CD cartridge with your finger. It will most likely pop right out. Reinsert and should be all good for a long while.

If there are signs of water ingress in the electronics compartment, the source must be eliminated. Most likely culprits:

-Upper boot hatch gasket portion
-Upper boot hatch top part (gutter) under spoiler
-Roof rack rails fastening screws
-Cable gland grommet to the tail light cluster

In my case it was the gasket. A good cleanup and some good quality sealant fixed it permanently.
