[Wanted] Good L322 Td6 in Green / Cream

Looking to buy my first RR but I'm quite specific on what I'm after.

It needs to be a good honest example in (Tonga/Epsom) Green with a cream interior. A fully loaded Vogue, preferably with a removable towbar, and decent maintenance / service history. I don't mind paying a premium for a well maintained example; I just don't want to pay over the odds for a shed.

Many examples for sale on t'internet are dealer trade-ins with limited information from sellers who just want to shift them. I'd like to think there are some enthusiast-owners here who would like a good home for their current car.

I'm realistic about the ownership prospect as I have a couple of 300 Tdi Defenders. Maybe I'm getting a bit older and just looking for some comfort? I've also owned a few E39 5-series in the past so the Td6 engine and electronics appeals to me.

Any leads or advice appreciated. Thanks!

My 2004 Petrol L322 Vogue spec, Epsom Green and Beige leather, with the BMW M62 engine is for sale, removeable Westfalia towbar, there are one or two niggles, like with all of them but a very nice motor and very comfortable of course !

The concept of a petrol V8 RR has always induced angst, with horror stories of near single-digit fuel economy. Feel free to send me more details though!

I have clocked up 20mpg steady motorway driving with the BMW Petrol 4.4 litre engine, the car also has LPG tank in the boot and other plumbing for it, but the bit that sits on top of the engine has been recently removed ( but could go back on by a mechanic that knows what they are doing )

It has taken me a year but I finally got hold of the one I'm looking for. A fully-spec'd Tonga TD6 with 129k miles and full main-dealer service history to over 100k. I'm paying top money for this one because the dealer has given assurances that it's one of the best he's seen, everything works, and it will have a full service, MoT, new tyres, and delivery to Scotland.

The registration is BD06JDO and it's in Surrey. I'll be putting my own plate on it once it arrives.

Does anyone here have any background on this one? Having agreed to buy it and paid the money I've now discovered it has 7 previous owners (albeit in 18 years) and it has been off the road for the last six months. I'm sure there's a perfectly valid explanation for this Shocked

Has it had a gearbox replacement? Once beyond 80 to 90 k miles they are very prone to failure. Don’t ask me how I know.

Thanks for that, very useful. So he's bought an MoT failure and is aiming to put it right before delivery.

Just spoke to the dealer and yes, that's why it has been off the road for the last few months. Sill work was done before he purchased it. It now has new OEM tyres and battery, along with various other jobs done. MoT is planned for tomorrow and I'll have it inspected by my local RR specialist when it arrives next week.

Knowing how much they salt the roads up with you (used to live in Ellon) then would definitely make sure you get some form of underseal prevention once they have sorted out the rust.
