Rear hub/bearing replacement. Pig?

Hi.

I've just discovered a very bad rear bearing on my 2014 RR L405. I thought it was the new Davanti Terratouras humming away but it turns out that it was the bearing breaking up! I'm trying to find out how much a pig of a job this is. Do I need to buy a new hub and bearing? Has anyone got experience with this or can anyone point me in the right direction?

Many thanks in advance.

J

I just had all of mine done on my L405, all were done by MD, however the fronts were the worst, rears were easy apparently, the noise i had was horrendous and came on quite quickly. I just took the plung and had all 4 done, rears cost approx £650 and front were £2k as needed new assembly as were well stuck. Picture below of one of my rears.

Thanks. That looks nasty! Yes, mine sounds like a stone caught between disc and cover but I thinks its the edge of the disc wobbling about!

I'm just wondering if the control arm needs removing to press out the bearing.

Hi Haylands. Apologies for the late reply! It's at around 116000 miles.

Has anyone successfully replaced the bearing or hub and if so - how did you do it? I've got it stripped down to the hub but of course it's an interference fit. Any ideas on how to get it out without removing the cast arm?

Thanks

J
