On my 3.0 TD6 (with 190k miles 15 plate). As I was driving the engine cut out and the red light came on. When I put the code reader on it came up with
P0340 camshaft position sensor A bank 1 malfunction
P0087 fuel pressure low
U2e10(DF) engine control unit.
Have got it to a garage and they said the crankshaft is turning but not the camshafts.
They say the engine needs a rebuild and have recommended QP Online Ltd in Maidstone. They have quoted £10000ish just in rebuild and can't do anything until November. We are based in Verwood Dorset.
Does anyone have any suggestions. We would also need a spare runner for this time.

Sounds like the crankshaft has broken, which will cost much more than £1000 to put right!

Best advice is to start saving.

Would you not be able to engine swap it for a 2nd hand unit for less?
