SVO options

Good evening all, I’ve not been here for quite a while, but as an idiotic driver decided to face plant his camper van into the front of my Sport SC, I now find I need a new car.

I’ve decided I’m going down the FF route with the 4.4 SDV8 but I’m confused by the SV versions. I’ve found a 2018 that claims to have a factory fitted SVO body kit which looks nice, it has SVO badges on the rear and the B pillar, but doesn’t have the quilted seats etc.

A 2019 SVA has what looks like standard bumpers etc. and has the quilted seats.

So should a SVA have the body kit and the quilted seats, or was the SVO body kit, different to the SVA and was a separate extra option?

Finding a face lift one with a kit and quilted seats has resulted in zero being found.

Any pointers would be appreciated.

I may stand corrected but the SVO car has the front and rear bumpers and quad exhausts. I don’t think there are any interior changes. There are a lot of L405 for sale with aftermarket kit on. What makes me thinks yours is genuine is the round door badges. Maybe you could see the Land Rover spec sheet for the car to see if it shows the kit as a factory option.

The SVA has more subtle exterior changes. A flashier front grille with horizontal chrome accents. Slightly different rear bumper and exhaust (but not quad exhausts) and rear lights which have white rings on them. It’s the SVA model which has the quilted interior not the SVO.

The car you’ve linked to has SVA wheels strangely enough.

Regardless, it looks like a lovely car. Maybe slightly expensive in mr opinion.

Thanks for the reply, I hadn’t realised the SVO was different to the SVA.

Regarding price, I’d be going with cash and making an offer as I don’t have a trade in. I’ve no idea how long it’s been for sale but it’s worth asking for a better price.

It’s been for sale on Autotrader since at least 24/11/23 so over six months. You can see the date of the advert on the url on the proper webpage.

The SVO Design Pack was just an (expensive) option, it’s not a separate model.

Just my humble opinion, but the SVO kit ruins the car and is just JLR making money from people who would otherwise go to places like Urban.

The SVA is a totally different (lovely) thing, that's the one to have. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

Was that a MY18 change? My 17 SVA has quad exhausts. Mike - MPx

Well I’ve gone and done it, bought a SVA, in black, registered 27th Dec 2018. It must have been a Christmas present!

Coincidentally I’ve just taken the plunge aswell with a SV, I’ll be interested how you get on with yours. I pick mine up next week. Did you take a service plan out as the fourth service seems to be quite intense with the diff oils but can’t seem to find out when the spark plugs are due

I was supposed to collect on Sunday but the funds still haven’t cleared into my account, so it will likely be next week now.

I’ve not taken out any service plans as I maintain my own cars, and anything I don’t have the tooling or experience for, I send to my local indi (all ex LR mechanics) who have been very good, to the point of charging me less for quoted work.

I’ve been on the Land Rover service data base and solved my own question. Diff oils at 4yrs and spark plugs every 6yrs which bump the bills up. Mines just had its 3yr service so three more services covering these I was quoted on a service plan £2836 sounds a lot but £18 a week. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated
