Headlight lense swap has caused me problems

I recently swapped my cloudy headlight lenses for new. The process seemed easier than I thought it would be. Using a head gun over 3 sides of the lamp allowed it to pull away. I had to prise a section open with an interior trim tool but after that it opened up no problem. The worse bit was removing the old glue.

So I thought everything went well, the new lenses were glued back in place and they looked great. Up on driving the car later, both my side lights didn't work. The adaptive front lighting system light is on. Check side light message on the dash and the gap tool telling me both the headlights are defective.

I've checked the fitment of everything. Tried a new bulb. Checked the fused but can't see anything out of place or broken.

Any idea on what I've disturbed/broken during the lense swap?

Edit* I was replacing the turn light, not the side light. I blame the bulb identifying machine at halfords. All is good now, in for mot.
