it is possible to buy a 2009/2010 at a reasonable cost ...it updates the firmware and gives you more up to date mapping....i believe you do loose the 'destination on the go' bit though. |

I have a new 2010 disc in my 2006 FFRR. It updated the firmware when installed and now when the 'agree' button is touched it comes up with' Do you want to input a destination' . Loads more POI's etc but yes you do lose the 'on the move option' over about 5mph.

ALAN, the 'destination on the go' can be activated by a dealer so its sounds like yours has had this done . |

Aha, I didn't think about that being an option that could be enabled/disabled

I came to the conclusion - it's probably as good as it's going to get (for a 2006 RR) |

Would an updated map DVD change any of the look and feel of the sat nav or is it just newer maps that otherwise look the same?

It changes the location of a couple of menu items, but the look and feel is unchanged - it still looks dated.
