Gear stick

Quite a minor point, but what does everyone think of the gear stick on the L460?

I've found myself trying to switch from Drive to Reverse, and not feeling completely confident that this has happened because sometimes it doesn't. So I have to double check by looking at the gear stick which is a bit of a pain when you're trying to quickly do a 3 point turn in traffic for example.

I should add that I never had a problem with the L405's rotary gear changer as you could be 100% confident that the you had changed gear. 2024 Range Rover P550e AB

I hated the rotary in the 405 and was delighted to see a stick
But
I think it is poor design, why does it need a lock button on the back, if it has to be there it needs to be easier to operate.
My Porsche has no extra interlock but will only operate if the brake pedal is pressed.
The 322 was realy nice. letters not necessarily in the right order

Yes, the stick itself is nice to hold and I also prefer it to the rotary. But like you say, the button on the back just doesn't seem to be function very well - or at least isn't consistent.

I also find it very easy to accidentally put it into Sport, which - as I have the PHEV - switches the car from battery to petrol, and often doesn't switch itself back to battery for a while. 2024 Range Rover P550e AB
