doing it through ghost means you'll get their support too, I had a minor issue where the ghost wasn't disarming and I was stuck in the wilds of Cumbria, even though it was fitted in the midlands, they sent a chap who they identified as being the nearest tech/installer and he landed a couple of hours later. I was back on the road 20 minutes after he landed having resolved the issue First time FFRR owner

When you get it installed consider what you want.

I went for the pin code which is a sequence of controls inputs etc

I avoided using the BT app as this can deactivate the ghost if your vehicle is near your phone, example watching tv or in bed and car is close to your phone. 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue

Hi Guys,

So got the Ghost 2 installed yesterday by an Autowatch approved installer recommend by my local Land Rover main dealer. They said he installs Ghost on all their new vehicles. I checked with Autowatch and they confirmed he’s one of their approved installers. I took the car to the main dealers site and he did the install there. He was a nice guy and did the install very quickly. In 25mins in fact. When he presented me with my card the override code had already been scratched off so it was visible. He asked me to take a pic of it and put the card somewhere safe (not in vehicle). He told me not to share any of the codes with no one under any circumstances. He showed me how it works etc and then left. He didn’t take any of my details except my number plate.

It didn’t register with me at the time as I was so focused on the instructions of the workings of Ghost. However now that I have had 24hrs, I’m thinking is that not a security risk him seeing my override code?

I spoke Autowatch just now and the lady on the line is wasn’t very helpful. She just said that the installer has 1 day to register the ghost and if he didn’t take my email address then it just means they won’t be email the certificate but then not everybody wants one so it’s not a major issue. If I have any concerns on the code thing then to email sales.

What’s your thoughts? Should be concerned at the speed of the install plus the override code being visible to him?

On a separate note, my electric boot is now playing up. Intermittently won’t open or close when open, either with remote or boot lid buttons. Just keeps beeping. Does Ghost interfere with electrics like this or is this just a coincidence?

Email Bradley Boxall <bradb> @autowatch etc was the responder when I had a security question, hopefully he is still there. If not email sales and they will pass on to their security expert.

They are approved installers but that still is a security risk, as some one scratched the code off. I too would be concerned and would think they should replace it.

It took around 30mins for my install, it doesn't interfere with the car in any way. 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue
