Hi

My car (2012 tdv8 4.4) has has an intermittent issue in the 2 months I have had it where the alarm will sound for no reason. Usually I can open the doors with the fob, turn the ignition on, and then off and it will be ok. Occasionally, when the alarm issue happens it will not unlock the doors with the fob and i need to use the manual key blade - when this happens, a message appears on the screen saying smart key not recognised.
Tonight the alarm keeps sounding / stopping and then going off again, no matter what i do, there is also a beep beep beep from the under bonnet sounder. from reading posts on this site i have tried the following:
- changed battery in the remote
- tried doube locking (double press of key)
- disconnected the under bonnet switch
- open and closed all doors and tailgate
- tried the spare key
- swore / cursed etc etc

i have just disarmed with the fob and disconnected battery negative and so far no alarm for the last 20 mins!

has anyone else had this issue and established the cause / can you throw any light on how to fix?
