A lot of diesel vehicles have an FBH fitted to provide quicker engine warm-up to reduce emissions. I've owned several diesel BMWs, a couple of Mercedes Sprinters, a diesel Honda and an Audi which all had Webasto Thermo Tops (C and V versions) fitted for just that purpose.

I'm slightly surprised your VSE doesn't have timed climate, it can be added by setting the correct flags in the CCF.

The above is correct - the heater unit is there to assist with a quick warm up, but if you want manual control, then it needs to be enabled/added. There's a 'how to' on this thread |

Link to a handbook from the WIKI, it's a US version but most of it is the same...

Chef - without going via IID, can you check the touch screen options you have. If you scroll to each screen, I think the last one, you should see a 'Timed Climate' option.

So managed to get my gap tool transferred today, thanks Patrick, and now realise that it’s there but only to warm the engine!

As above. Do you not have the timed climate on the main touchscreen? 2016 4.4 diesel |
