after being away from range rovers for 10 years am thinking of making a return, am seriously considering an LWB. two questions.....

- is the boot larger in an LWB than a SWB or is it just the back seats

- which engine

The only extra space is in the rear seat leg room, on some LWB’s there is less useable boot space than a standard SWB due to the seat and rear centre console configuration 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

I am biased thus will say 5.0 Supercharged SVA; however, I have a feeling that the "standard" 5.0 supercharged LWB will have more of the wafting feel than the SVA which not only have 22" wheels but also sportier suspension that detracts a little from the comfort zone.

However, the suspension does come into its own when pushing on.

I have a 4.4SDV8 SVA LWB and its the best one I've owned by miles. Especially for rear leg room

I keep looking at the hybrid with the 2 litre petrol in it..... the majority of the miles that I would drive in it are around my house with the odd run down to France, so I would imagine half my yearly mileage would be under electric. I would prefer the diesel but the value offering seems be the hybrid, supercharger seems lovely but expensive !

I’ve been running a LWB 2.0l hybrid for a little over a year now and it’s great. It’s plenty powerful when needed, but creeps around silently most of the time in town. I’m able to get 40+ km to a charge in spring/summer, mid-20’s in winter. Given the battery size it’s not exactly frugal on elec but it’s a nice feeling, especially in traffic jams.

I have the exec rear seating which makes the boot frankly laughable. With two kids I’m pretty much forced to take my Tesla model S even for simple afternoons out due to the prams. Sure you can remove the parcel shelf and stack to the ceiling but who wants to do that; too much clattering and mess for my liking. 2018 P400e AB LWB

With such low range on the battery, to reach those kind of fuel savings, you would need to be plugging the car in every night. Just something to consider and whether this actually becomes a faff and you stop bothering.

I am able to plug in overnight easily so that’s not an issue

I don’t mind burning the petrol when I’m on the holibobs, I’m assuming it’s relatively quiet when running on petrol?

It is pretty quiet although a little rougher sounding under acceleration than you might expect for the class of vehicle.

On petrol only on long runs I’m averaging 28-29 MPG wise. Short runs on fuel only is more like low to mid 20’s. Never seen 30+ unless the battery is involved 2018 P400e AB LWB

what does the 4.4 diesel do on a run? im assuming the hybrid is pretty reliable as I can't seem to find any horror stories about it?
