Problem fitting Ctek direct connector leads

I was about to fit one of these with the M6 eyelets to both main and aux batteries but the clamp nuts tighten up as they get towards the top of the stud. I think the stud ends have been peened over. What’s the best way to get the nuts off, just apply brute force? I don’t want to sink stripping the thread of the nut but I imagine it would be tricky to get a die to engage the stud accurately. 2018 L405 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography

Could you cut the eyelets so that instead of hoops they become U shaped & slip them over ?

I put mine on the under bonnet terminals. I'm not 100% sure which battery it charges, but as they are the jump starting posts, I assume it's whatever is needed for starting.

Those studs are connected to the main battery...

I don't think I'd connect anything to both batteries, you are in effect joining the batteries together.

I just don't think it's a good idea or they would have just put a bigger battery in...

Maybe I'm miles away but connecting a trickle charger to the main battery always works for me when leaving it for 60days+ It always starts and everything works fine.... Thumbs Up Pete

If your car has a tow bar you can buy a 13 pin adaptor and just connect your CTek this way which is what I do and it’s so much easier. 2012 4.4 TDV8 Vogue Santorini black ivory leather
