Anyone managed to successfully add a new key to an L405? | |

Mine only came with one key. Someone here a few months back told me I could just get a replacement on eBay and program it with a decent enough diagnostic tool. I have an Autel AP200 and my car is a 2014 model which is apparently the simple system that should be easily done.
I have the following 4 options on the Immo menu. Check passive keys seems to be the option I need. I guess my unprogrammed key is “passive” and therefore this option will enable it?
Going through the procedure in it, I have to put keys one by one onto the gear lever, pressing unlock on them and confirming the ignition turns on (which it does). At the end (final photo) it says “number of keys programmed to the vehicle =2” which I assume means my new key was programmed but it still does nothing and only my original keys works.
I’ve tried the process twice now with the same result. Does anyone have any idea what I’m doing wrong please? The battery in both fobs are fine. Maybe when doing the process I need to remove the key that is not being programmed (the one not placed on the gear lever) from the car entirely so it’s not just programming the same key twice? The instructions don’t say to do this but maybe with this on my lap it’s not far enough away from the gear lever?
Thanks for any advice
