4.4 TDV8 - restricted performance (yellow)

Hey all

I’m getting an occasional yellow restricted performance coming up on my 2010 4.4 TDV8. It’s only on start up. Never appears mid drive. Has no impact on actual performance.
Any ideas on best things to check/replace to try and solve the issue?

Battery perhaps given it’s always on start up?

Thanks in advance 2010 Range Rover 4.4TDV8 Autobiography Black Edition

What fault codes does the diagnostic reader come up with. Without that you’re going to be throwing the parts book at it.
Get a gap IID Bluetooth and it’ll pay for itself in weeks and has amazing resale value Thumbs Up
Diagnostic trouble codes chapter in the workshop manual that is on the Wiki is your reference point for whatever comes up on the gap Bow down Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

Or take it to an independent specialist local to you. Avoid main dealers. Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

Greg,

Check the electrical connector to the sensor on the secondary turbo air filter box.

I forgot to reconnect mine after changing the air filter, it came up restricted perf when I started the engine.

Then months later restricted performance came up again after driving on a very cobbled road, so cleaned/checked connector again and made sure it was locked in place.

Been ok ever since. -----------------------

Thanks.
I’ll check that the next time the bonnet is up. It’s a random fault so I’m thinking I poor connection somewhere. 2010 Range Rover 4.4TDV8 Autobiography Black Edition

I’ve had this pop up today - on day 2 of L322 ownership.

Used the search function on here as I’ve not yet got an IID tool.

Common causes are the donut plenum & 4 associated hoses - both can split, although mine were all clean of any obvious residue - so I lubed up the CSOV with some penetrating oil & moved it by hand… so far no restricted performance message.

As you’ve mentioned too, could be the battery voltage drop on startup. It seems these cars have a reputation for control modules being super sensitive to voltage fluctuations. 2011 TDV8 Vogue - Galway/Ivory

We have an error code

P040D-00 (2F) Exhaust gas recirculation temperature sensor A

Looks like it’s a common issue on the 4.4 TDV8. Lots of reading for me to do on here 👍🏻

Yellow restricted performance continues to be random so let’s hope this is the fix the car is looking for. 2010 Range Rover 4.4TDV8 Autobiography Black Edition
