Site UPS System

Just thought I'd ask here before I go searching online - we currently have a backup generator on site that covers an office with 60+ users and warehouse (lighting)

It has a 30 second start time, rouble is that 30 secs means all the individual systems need to have their own UPS's. There are systems that provide UPS for an entire site, I wondered if anyone here has experience with these or could recommend a company to provide such a thing?

We are about to buy another site that has no UPS facility, again warehouse and Offices. So will need something for there even if we cant do anything for the current site solution.

Dan, depending on your exact needs you might want to check out Powerware. They do UPS systems which sit in the main supply line and can also cope with generators. This is mainly designed for on site comms rooms up to about 40KVA.

Beyond this you would be looking at datacentre grade stuff from Mitsi etc, you know, the big boys.

Powerware are the peeps who make the HP badged stuff as well just as an aside. I've used it to good effect on both single and 3 phase supplies. PM me if you want a chat.

Dom.

I can reccomend reillio(spelling!) or apc as we use them solely in our datacentres and gov ones as well and that's for the in rack stuff, outta rack it's off the shelf rack units, rooms of deep cycle batteries as well as the genny's themselves.

If you get support agreements through a 3rd party try disposal companies like rdc in essex for nearly new kit at a fraction I the price as I've dealt with them before for disposal and they were keenly priced.
