My electrochromatic driver's side mirror glass needs to be replaced. The previous one was located on a black mastic coated plate, which had the connection for the dimming function.

This plate was fixed to the body of the mirror by a central spigot, which is surrounded by the 4 up, down, left, right servo motor actuators.

Does the replacement mirror need to be one that sticks on or clips on ? There is a clip type thing on the back of the black mastic coated plate, but it doesn't seem to want to come off.
