I had BT Broadband installed last Monday (6th). I signed up for the 10Gb package, free for 4 months online. I'd done the maths, and it worked out slightly cheaper than what I was paying at the time with 02.

Not exactly sure but i think the DSR rules would come into effect here even tho you ordered online and you then would be entitled to a 14 day cooling off period .

I was until last monday. Thing is, BT reckon I used just over 3Gb on Friday 10th. Both of us were at work, the PC was powered down, and I've yet to connect the PS3 and the Wii to the new BT connection, so none of these machines are taking any data. The only other thing is my iPhone and iPad but both of these came with me to work last Friday. The strange thing is, I can access BT FON and BT openzone hotspots- including the ones broadcast from my Home Hub. These are unlimited data and I can connect to these easily using my password. So why can't BT juet let me have unlimited data on my own plan? Confused. 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded |

Yeah, BT are not the best when it comes to billing and plan metering. I've been with BT for years on their business unlimited plan and I only stick with it for the fixed IP address which no other provider will do any more it seems.

There are a few that offer static IP's for non business circuits but they aren't cheap .... |

BE won't provide from the exchange I'm on. Us poor cousin rural peeps are stuck with BT and really slow speeds.

Don't be so hard on yourself! When BT announced their new Infinity fibre optic service, my exchange was going to be in the first lot that were done, but sadly it appears that despite this, every time I punch in my postcode, I'm told my house is "too far" from the exchange to get it, so all I get is a miserable 3-4Mb/s if I'm lucky! Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue Had- 2008 TDV8 Vogue SE in Java black Had - 2007 S/C in Stornoway Grey |
