Morning all,

I need to replace my 2012 L322 Westie's engine bay fuse box, both sides of the heated screen having burnt out their individual fuses and damaged the board. I've had a LR specialist look at the system and it's all working fine by all accounts and I think the original problem was a poorly fitted windscreen, prior to my ownership, damaging the screen connectors under the scuttle, which is now re-routed and sorted.
I've sourced a second-hand fuse box with all the fuses and relays fitted, cleaned it all up with contact cleaner and a bit of 400 grit on the relay/fuse contacts, checked all fuses, and am ready to pull the damaged fuse box and replace. My question, to anyone familiar with this job, is whether it is as simple as it appears:

- disconnect battery
- unplug fuse box from 4 x main car loom multipin connectors
- unbolt fuse box from chassis
- replace all connectors and ground leads

Specialist told me no recoding was required. I have a GAP IID tool to clear any random codes thrown after the swap but before I commit would like to take advice from this awesome resource.
Best left to the pros or entirely do-able by an enthusiastic amateur like me?

Well, turns out not as simple as I thought!

Swapped over board and relays this morning and.....no start. !

Connected GAP IID and read a bunch of codes, all probably related to battery disconnect. Cleared them but a bunch kept coming back regardless and still nothing on start. Reconnected old fusebox with same relays and same no start. Batt at 12.2V and tried with jump pack too.

Any suggestions from the experts on here?

GAP IID tool throws loads of codes related to loss of battery power from disconnection but still return if cleared and ECUs checked again. Seems like a code is preventing the car from starting as self-protection?

It's showing a red transmission warning in the dash and I'm wondering whether the car will prevent start to in that instance?

Tempted to try a reset through the GAP IID but not sure whether I'd make my problem worse or not?

Anyone offer any good forum or page links that provide decent GAP IID support knowledge?

Try contacting GAP, their support is brilliant and it seems as if there's very little that Patrick doesn't know about these things.

Thanks for response, I’ll try in future but I’ve managed to fix this.
The smaller of the 3 x multi-pin plugs (with the rotating bar locator) was not engaged properly, although you wouldn’t know from looking at it.
Check, check & check again.
