Hi guys, probably a stupid question but I have to ask anyway. I want to replace my discs and pads all round and being an amateur DIY mechanic I have a small collection of tools. I like to prepare everything in advance before I start to do anything and have been checking Torque requirements for the various fixings of discs, callipers etc. Am I correct in thinking that the bolts that hold the callipers on need to be Torqued up to 280nm? My current Torque wrench only goes up to 230nm. Is the 50nm difference a significant difference in the scheme of things? If I need a new Torque wrench, ,and thinking of other possible jobs on my L405, what should be the maximum torque setting that I need to look for?

Any job justifies the purchase of a new tool

I'm quite partial to Wera kit at the moment - and I absolutely don't need it

And as we all know a more peaceful life can be maintained if we can give just a little justification for spending the housekeeping on afore mentioned new tool to she who must be obeyed!

I currently have a Torque wrench that does 20nm - 230nm but an looking at an additional one that is 60nm - 330nm. I am hoping between them it will cover me for most of the smaller DIY jobs?
