Ride Height Sensor

Hi

When i purchased my 2012 westminster tdv8 4.4 it had a couple of warnings on the dash - Air Suspension fault and adaptive dynamics fault (with warning triangles). it drives fine and the suspension height is ok and can be lifted up / down and the warnings will clear with the 'ok' button on the steering wheel, but come back as soon as the car is turned off / on. also, when turned off the car suspension lowers.

I have used my icarsoft range rover code reader which indicated that the front right ride height sensor was the cause of the issue. I have removed the sensor and the swivelling arm is very stiff -so i will replace it. I have read the part numbers that are stamped onto the sensor these are ah42 3 c097 bd, dl6tc, 304043 and 12055. When i search for this on the ebay / amazon these exact part numbers arent shown -there are different variants for sale. Can anyone please provide the correct part number.

I replaced a ride height sensor on my prev 2002 td6 and didnt need to calibrate it, however, is that the same with the 2012 mode or do i need to have it calibrated (as my code reader doesnt have this facility)?

Thanks for your help.

Tom

when I replaced the height sensor on my 2011 i used the part numbers from here

https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.com/p...and-rover/

There is a difference between those with and those without adaptive headlights and after I installed it I did run a calibration using the Gap IID tool, however I am not 100% convinced that you needed to as there was no faults or anything flagged up when I replaced it.
Word of caution see if you can get one with the mounting bracket as the brackets on there own are really hard to find! 2011 L322 Autobography - a lot of bells and some of the whistles...owner with no idea!

Thanks for the information Paul -I have run the part number from the website on ebay and there are lots available.

The bracket on mine is ok so i will reuse it.

Fingers crossed on the calibration.

Cheers Tom Thumbs Up

The adaptive dynamics cars have 6 connection pins, 3 for adaptive dynamics system and 3 for air suspension system.

What we mean with the sensor brackets….. you will prob find you have to cut your old sensor off it as when you try and unscrew the old sensor, the brass insert spins and the bolt goes round and round….

General consensus on the forum is to use a genuine Land Rover height sensor, but of course it’s up to you.

Hi MJ

Thanks for the advice on the LR original sensor. There are a couple of new LR originals on ebay for around £100 so I will get one of them.

Regards

Tom
