Ok so I have searched and not found anything for my specific issue, whenI try to adjust the suspension down say to access mode it ( this is at a standstill) drops the rear but not the front, it actually raises the from the I get the message that suspension is blocked and remove the obstruction. It will eventually go down if I drive around a bit.

Now I have serviced both front and rear valve blocks and its still happening, I have no suspension faults showing just the error message that says I need to remove the blockage.

Any ideas as its baking my noodle.

Sounds like a faulty height sensor. The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom

Update, I have done all the O rings in the front valve block, still the same. Height sensors appear to be working when checking using GAP tool.

Has anyone got a really good guide as to which valve operates and when including the valve block with the compressor housing?

I can make an informed guess but really want to know that I am correct.

Oh and I have never been able to calibrate the suspension at all, GAP tool is fully updated but when i try the guided process the suspension has never lowered on any corner, maybe related maybe not.

When I did the O rings on the front valve block ( and the rear some time ago) there was significant pressure in the system even though i did a full depressurisation could this be related?

Thanks for that, I do have the workshop manual but alas it doesn't describe what happens to each valve etc. I think its fairly intuative, seems strange that its only the front that "sticks", to me if seems like a sticking valve but these cars can be fickle.

I am going to do the O rings on the valve block in the boot just in case this is the issue, if not I think its going to me local independent for some investigation.

Sounds like valve block could be sticking ,have you tried swapping the front and rear valve blocks around to see what happens ?.if the front then lowers and the rear doesn’t then you know it’s a valve block issue……you can pick them up from eBay (£15 ish)

Well after a few hours tinkering in the garage I solved the issue.

Fist I did the O rings on the valve block in the compressor housing and that didn't fix it, still the same the car would not lower at the front when commanded.

However when i de pressurised using the GAP tool the car did lower but very slowly and when I undid the unions on the valve block there was significant pressure remaining. So i did a little more digging here in the forum and found someone who was getting a similar issue in that the car would not lower at all and they found a blocked "muffler" on the outlet of the system, so I removed the muffler and hey presto suspension is working exactly as it should. I guess it was taking so long for the front to start dropping the computer decided there was an obstruction under the car.

So now at least all the valve blocks have been serviced and I have fixed the fault just need to get a replacement "muffler" now, thanks for all your help

well at least the valve blocks will be good for a long time ,I'm sure that some where on here someone has said just to drill a 2mm hole in the muffler and its all sorted (quick fix till you can get a new one

I was going to mention the exhaust on the air compressor, but as you said the rear lowered I didn’t think it was that. Nothing lowered when mine was blocked.

Got there in the end.
