Hi Peeps, can anyone tell me how to check oil level on later p38 2.5 auto gearbox. I have either had earlier models with dipstick or petrol. I don't think the later P38 had dipsticks, no handbook to check.

There should be a gearbox dipstick, behind the engine oil one and further toward the bulkhead on the same side.

It's a 99 and I don't think they have a dipstick?

I fitted a dipstick tube from an earlier model to mine!

But, I think the port at the front of the gearbox sump is a level plug. So you have to remove it and stick your finger in!
